ABOUT OUR CLUB

Welcome,

Thank you for your interest in our club; Titletown Treasure Seekers. We have members from all over the N.E. Wisconsin area.

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. We meet at Van Veghal's Auction House, 2050 Profit Place, De Pere, WI. ( approx. 1.5 miles south of the East De Pere city limits on Hwy. 32/57 ) Food & drink is available from Paluka's Pub, located in the same building.

Yearly dues are $20.00 for a single membership, and $30.00 for a family membership. Membership includes participation in all club meetings, hunts, and events, monthly newsletter, and voting privileges. An associate membership is available for $10.00, which includes newsletter only.

The purpose of our club is to bring together people who share a common interest in the hobby of metal detecting. We emphasize education, both in local regulations, and proper detecting and recovery techniques. We welcome people new to the hobby of detecting. Usually someone in our club owns, or has owned any particular type of detector and can share their experiences. The club is a good resource to find a "huntin buddy" from your area, particularly for new detectorists.

Our monthly meetings are primarily social, with an opportunity to show off your finds from the previous month, and talk about our favorite hobby. We conduct whatever club business is necessary, have door prizes, and a raffle. We also have contests for finds of the month, with categories including oldest coin(s), & best ring, jewelry, token, unusual items, etc.

In the winter months, we have guest speakers on topics of interest to metal detectors. Topics have included local historical research, new detector models, local geology, archeology, water detecting methods, coin value and care, and gold prospecting.

We run a year-long scavenger hunt for prizes, and members who find and return personal items have a chance to win prizes in a drawing.

The Club sponsors two Planted hunts a year, in the spring and fall, one for members only, and one where members from other WI clubs are invited. We purchase and bury silver coins, along with tokens for prizes. We have a cookout paid for by the club, and various detecting games for prizes. Hunt fees are usually $ 20.00 - $25.00.

To support our planted hunts, we run two fund raisers in the spring and fall. Volunteers from the club sell brats and burgers at a local grocery store. All funds go towards the purchase of silver coins for the planted hunts, over and above the hunt fees.

We try to get together a couple of times a year for club "outings", where we pick a venue and get permission to detect as a group. Church camps, county & city parks, and the EAA grounds in Oshkosh have been popular spots.

The club is available for classroom presentations in schools or other venues. As a public service, we also make ourselves available to law enforcement agencies and private citizens for the recovery of evidence and lost articles at no charge.

One of our members is a multi-line detector dealer, and can provide just about any detector and accessory at discounted prices.

Thanks again for you interest. We hope to see you at one of our meetings. If you have any further questions, feel free to give me a call at 920/391-1515.
